I did read your piece and I found it interesting, you clearly see the issue as black or white (no pun intended) as far as Trump support and where they stand. I am not disagreeing with your position as we are 30-months into his Presidency. But did you always feel that way? I did not, I thought a number of people voted for him because he promised jobs to an economically deprived region. Now, coming to the 2020 Election, I don’t think you can separate the two. I am 100% sure that Donald Trump is racist. Over the intervening years, by his continued comments and actions, I do not think the average American can come to any other conclusion that is being honest with themselves. Now, because he is the most powerful man in the world, a vote for him implies tacit support for his (and the people he surrounds himself with) racists beliefs.

Now in another response, you told me that POC who voted for Trump have, excuse me if I don’t have the exact words, disowned or disavowed. When a Trump supporter mentions this fact I don’t feel I can say the POC is racist (Is that my place?) and I can’t say that they are stupid, naive, or not knowing what is best for themselves (As that makes me sound condescending and like I am a superior)?

As someone who has taken the time to think about this subject, what do you see as the appropriate response to them? If you have time to reply, thank you (I hope it is not quite so harsh, lol), if not I understand, but your opinion is valued as it is a perspective I don’t often hear. Thanks
